Neuromuscular, Deep Tissue and Sports Massage work into the myofascia and often reach deeper layers of bone fascia while targeting muscle fascia knots. There are different modalities that need to be used to deal with these 3 layers of fascia as the fascia brings moisture and youth to Skin Muscle and Bone. Deeper modalities are used to break down knots or fascial adhesions in the different layers and relieve tension in these shortened muscle fibers throughout the body. Cortisol is stimulated neurologically where the body tries to protect an area by pulling the fascia into a knot or firm surface fascia adhesion and sometimes collecting material to surround and build a stronger barrier in attempts to protect the body. The issue comes when this dried out fascia causes deteriorating muscle blocked from nutrients to tear, causes skin to thin out and bone to weaken. Perpetual lack of nourishment leads to many other immune deficiency problems such as stiff persons syndrome SPS, Fibromyalgia, MS, Lupus, Lyme and many more.
This type of Neuromuscular, structural, sports massage is beneficial for athletes, injured bodies, tortured overworked bodies and those who sit for long periods of time where hips get locked up, those who have rotator cuff and other over-use injuries and blocked areas. Injury that is related needs custom therapies which are instinctively recommended by first addressing range of motion, posture and palpated tissues reveal problems.
In discovering the fascia-adhesions or knots that block joints from getting proper flow, you will have the knowledge you need to help your body retrain and repair. Good deep regular hot yoga and or massage WILL help prevent surgery in so many instance... deeper sports specific work will speed faster recovery, provide pain relief, proper structural integration and function. Therapies can include Heat and Ice, fascia blasting, graston, cupping, ART pin and stretch or rolfing if necessary for stubborn fascia. Longer sessions may be necessary in some cases, especially if you haven’t addressed the issues properly over an extended period. All modalities used are custom to your bodies’ needs.
Bone layer fascia adhesion may show as a deep indent or cellulite and show underlying structure problems to be corrected for a smoother less painful healthy supple limb. These deep indents can be a warning that there are structural issues in the hips and joints which lead to deterioration of joints.
This therapy is more of a necessity and not as much of a fun treat as other types of massage, but can be combined in a more artistic transitionally beneficial way, to include Lomilomi and others. Although it can at first be uncomfortable to a patient to work the hip muscles and deep into the glutes to remove blocked fascia, tact and complete professionalism are always present.
Lomilomi is no doubt the most artistic of styles, and the most relaxing, More twisting and long gliding type dance, changing from lighter to deeper, you enter a zone of deeper relaxation.
The goal of Swedish Massage is to melt away muscle tension and increase oxygenated blood flow to your heart. Swedish Massage is extremely therapeutic as it decreases muscle toxins, increases oxygen levels in the blood, and improves flexibility in the body.
Lymphatic Drain is required by surgeons post op and provides value to the surgery in getting optimal results.
